We packed up our caravan and headed out to The Roaring Fork Area of Colorado the end of July...it is Hubs' ole stompin ground, where he used to be a fly fishing guide and carpenter for 10ish years before moving down to the Florida Keys to take on the Silver King - the tarpon.
It was my first trip to Colorado and I am smitten! The air was exhilarating and rejuvenating and I was not cold at all, even though the temperature dropped to the upper 40s in the evening at some of the highest peaks. Here are some of the highlights...
Rodeo's ready for the trip out West..."Will there be cowboys there?" Oh yes, little man...
The view from our Condo in Snowmass Village...no words, just "'Ahhh".
I fell in love with the vibrant colors of the floweres...I miss wild flowers down here...I can only keep palm trees and succulents thriving down here in the 'tropics'.
Rodeo's in his element...Daddy got him a real cowboy hat at the real rodeo we attended (hence his 'blogname')...hmmm looks like a commercial for Chevrolet..."This is Our Country"...
Montana has nothing on this Colorodo 'Big Sky'...view from our friend's mini-farm.
Buckle gets to know some of the residents...
Skippy the Horse is feeling a little lonely....or maybe he realizes the sofa looks a helluva lot cozier than his stall..
Rodeo gets to hold a little chick...this and Skippy made his day!
What keeps drawing Hubs back...again and again.
I love fishing with Daddy, woohoo!
Just a mountain man at heart :)
And just a few more for your soul....
Colorado sunset from 10,000 feet...brrrr chilly!!
Feeling quite small amidst this grandeur...small and blessed!!
It was a long trip out...16 hours travel time, and seemed even longer trip back (it always seems longer going home, huh?)...but it was so worth it! And the two babes were troopers!! Just alittle bit of fussin (parents included!!).
We hope to make this a yearly tradition...and we would love to stay longer, and longer...maybe for life, God/Goddess willing :)
